How do you visualize events for which there are no images? How do you make history come to life? In this master class, the artist and filmmaker Wendy Morris will speak about her experience dealing with historical materials and about the possibilities offered by animation for the presentation of history. At the same time, she will address the extent to which execution and perception are subjective. In addition to offering illustrations and excerpts from her films and artistic works, the master class will be interactive this year: Participants will take a short walk through central Leipzig on the basis of which Wendy Morris will explain her search for images and ideas. There will also be a wall with paper on which drawings created during the master class will each be photographed in the spirit of continuous transformation.
The master class will be held in English.
