Paweł Łoziński was born in Warsaw in 1965. In 1992 he graduated in directing from the Łodz School of Film and Theatre and has since worked as a writer, director and producer of documentary ﬁlms that received numerous awards at festivals throughout the world. He also teaches at the Gdynia Film School. Among his best-known works are “Birthplace” (1992, Golden Gate Award a.o.), “The Way It Is” (1999) and “Between the Doors” (2004, both awarded the Golden Dove). His ﬁlm “Chemo” (2009, Prix Europa for Best Television Documentary and Best Director Award at the One World Human Rights Watch Film Festival, Prague 2010) is a multilayered exploration of the value of life from the perspective of cancer ward patients. He has recently cooperated with his father Marcel Łoziński, for example on the ﬁlm “Father and Son” (2012).
