Lutz Dammbeck, born in Leipzig in 1948, is a graduate of the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts. He is a writer, producer and director and has realised a number of exhibitions. His animation "The Moon" attracted international attention in 1975/76. In the following years, he became the subject of reprisals by the GDR government, before he moved to Hamburg in 1986. He founded his own production company in 1990 and was a guest lecturer at the Hamburg University of Applied Arts in 1992/93. In 1998, he became a professor at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts and has been head of its New Media project course since 2000. Beside other awards, his film "Master Game" was awarded the DOK Leipzig Silver Dove in 1998.
