Paul Sturtz

Jury Young Cinema Competition and International Short Documentary Competition Paul Sturtz

In 1998, Paul Sturtz co-founded the Ragtag Film Society with David Wilson, followed in 2000 by the Ragtag Cinema, an independent cinema in Columbia, Missouri, whose mission is to champion film in all its artistic forms and support local artists. In 2004, he co-founded the True/False Film Fest with Wilson and has since served as its co-director. The festival became an artistic and economic success and awards an annual prize, the True Vision Award. Since 2007, it has also awarded additional funds from the True Life Fund to protagonists of the documentary films screened in its programmes. Sturtz has served on the juries of several festivals, including in San Francisco and Warsaw, and produces a weekly radio news hour.
