The state government in Munich presented the 38th Bavarian Film Award on 20th January 2017. The award comes with one of the largest monetary prizes in the German film landscape.

Andreas Voigt's "Time Will Tell" (Alles andere zeigt die Zeit) (DOK Leipzig 2015) won in the Documentary Film category.

In 1986 Andreas Voigt started observing and filming the lives of the inhabitants of Leipzig, thus creating testimonial footage of a GDR which would soon disappear. In 2015, he released the sixth part of his internationally-acclaimed Leipzig series. It focuses on three protagonists whose lives take unexpected turns. In its statement, the jury wrote: "Andreas Voigt pays homage to the three and in doing so analyses the current state of our society brilliantly."

Andreas Voigt's "Alles andere zeigt die Zeit" (Time Will Tell) had its world premiere at DOK Leipzig 2015 and was also the opening film of the festival.
