Ralph Eue was born in 1953. He studied German, Romance Languages and Architecture in Marburg, Paris and Frankfurt. Since 1980 he is working as a film publicist and translator. Until 1984 he was editor of the journal Filmkritik. From 1990-1995 he worked as Press Officer at Tobis Filmkunst. Since 1996 he is working as a television journalist. 2005 he was the curator of the Berlinale - Retrospective. Eue also teaches film history and film theory at the Universität der Künste in Berlin, at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie (DFFB) and the University of Vienna and works internationally as an advisor for cultural institutions and film festivals. In 2014/15, he launched the "Susan Sontag Revisited" film and event programme (Berlin/Vienna). He is also the editor of a DVD edition of the films of Marcel Ophüls.
