DOK.Incubator: Aiming for the US market
The DOK.Incubator participants have just concluded the second session of the workshop, which took place in Banska Stiavnica, Slovakia. The focus was on building specific marketing strategies, sharpening distribution plans and expanding the participants’ knowledge of the international film market.
At the workshop, near-finished films were “test screened” to the international audience: producers, distributors and sales agents, who gave them the feedback on the films’ potential, but also helped the filmmakers to design a proper distribution and marketing strategy.
After the second workshop, the participants are heading to the US: three of DOK.Incubator projects: "Holy Cow", "To the Amazon" and "Thy Father’s Chair" are the only European filmmakers to meet over 100 U.S. & International festival programmers and executives, at the IFP Independent Week, New York. The exclusive platform for USA producers provides both creative and business opportunities connecting new talents with the representatives from international renown festivals and decision-makers at the US market.
Next step for the filmmakers will be DOK Leipzig session of DOK.Incubator, which takes place from the 24 - 29 October.
