TRIBECA HACKS <DOK> with DOK LEIPZIG
Our first Hackathon is bringing together content creators and tech experts to promote mutual understanding and innovative approaches in interactive storytelling.
Tuesday evening until Thursday evening, October 28 – 30, 2014
The renowned Tribeca Film Institute (TFI) and DOK Leipzig are partnering for this innovative collaborative workshop-event focusing on interactive non-fiction storytelling, and exploring new tools and methods of story creation.
Building on DOK Leipzig’s expertise in Documentary and Animation, and continuing the Tribeca Hacks series of interactive approaches to storytelling, Tribeca Hacks <DOK> at DOK Leipzig will match media artists, filmmakers, digital storytellers with programmers, games developers and web designers to think stories and documentary from a different perspective.
Storytellers will be paired in advance with technologists and designers to form four to five multidisciplinary project teams. During this 3-day Hackathon they will define, develop and partly realize a project from the initial idea to a first prototype.
The results will be officially presented to a jury and international industry professionals on Thursday, October 30. The team with the most promising project will be awarded to participate in the following 4th DOK Leipzig Net Lab (Friday, October 31+ Saturday, November 1) to further develop their non-linear story in structure and content.
