Special Programme in Cooperation with the German Institute for Animated Film

DOK Leipzig and the German Institute of Animated Film (DIAF) take the 20th anniversary of the Peaceful Revolution as an opportunity to ask what has become of GDR film directors, designers and animated filmmakers. Films made before, during and after the political changes are used to demonstrate how the work of the filmmakers has developed both with regard to the subjects addressed and under formal aspects. With their comments on the situation at that time, the difficulties of the new start and the current production conditions, the filmmakers complement the programme.
