A German-Czech Documentary Film Project

A call for submissions launched by DOK Leipzig, the Prague Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) and ZIPP German-Czech Cultural Projects yielded five extraordinary films about time and the acceleration of our daily life.

After months of joint preparation, project selection, financing, script development, two workshops with international mentors, production and completion, the five artistic documentary shorts that have come out of this project are now celebrating their world premiere at DOK Leipzig and the Jihlava International Documentary Film festival.

The initiators of the project “BREATHLESS – Dominance of the Moment” want to support bold and creative documentary ideas with a clearly distinguishable style of their own that would have next to no chance of being realised otherwise. They also want to promote the cultural dialogue between Germany and the Czech Republic and show how dynamic and diverse the documentary film industries in both countries are.
