The DOK Leipzig Festival Trailer will be shown before every screening during the festival week from 26 October until 01 November 2009. This year's trailer features a number of scenes of films out of the International Competition Documentary Film.

You live in Berlin and plan to visit DOK Leipzig? Then make use of the 24h DOK Leipzig Ticket, offered in cooperation with Veolia Verkehr.

Soon DOK Leipzig opens it's "window into the world" again!

Within the Festival Week from 26 October until 01 November DOK Leipzig presents 330 films from 69 countries, including several world premieres. In four competitions, 83 new productions are featured – selected from 2,578 entries from 108 countries.

A total of 67,000 Euros prize-money is available for the competitions.

Further highlights of this year's Festival are the Special Programmes "T.I.A. - This is Africa" and "Transit '89. Gdansk-Leipzig-Bucharest", a Retrospective on Joris Ivens, an Animation Retrospective on Andrey Khrzhanovskiy, further special programmes and a variety of special events.

The relationship between festivals and market is the topic of a panel titled "HOW ? WOW ! and NOW ?" within the "Italian Doc Screenings" on Friday 18 September 2009.

Part of this panel discussion in Trento will be Dr. Grit Lemke, programmer and member of the selection committee of DOK Leipzig.

Agnès Varda's film "Les plages d'Agnès", which has been shown in DOK Leipzig's last year's International Competition Documentary Film, opens in German cinemas from 10 September on.
