The 8th International DOK Leipzig Co-Production Meeting will take place on the 29 & 30 October 2012. We are excited to welcome 35 projects looking for co-production partners.

In addition to the prescheduled one-on-one meetings between producers and financers, the International Co-Production Meeting will also feature a case study with the commissioning editor, producers and distributor of the multiple award-winning film Sophia's Last Ambulance by Ilian Metev, a Bulgarian/ Croatian/ German co-production, delving into its financing and distribution strategy. We will also cast focus on co-producing with the UK, taking a humorous look at how to overcome stylistic, cultural and artistic differences when co-producing with "the island" and "continent". Bring your own tea and crumpets!

As in 2011, producers and financers will be encouraged to join us at  WILD at HEART, asking us to look differently at our working methods, as well as country round-tables with the most up-to-date information on international co-production and of course various networking events.

As in previous years, we will also welcome participants and partners from the Balkan Documentary Centre, Chiledoc, Doc Montevideo, the Institute of Documentary Film (Czech Republic), Dragon Forum (Poland) and Storydoc (Greece).

This is an invitation-only event.

Want to join us in 2013? Applications will open in late Spring next year.

"Overall I would say it was an extremely positive event, very well organised, welcoming and productive. We had expected the one-to-one meetings with experts to be very useful, as indeed they were, but I think we hadn't anticipated quite how inspiring and productive the meetings with other producers would be."
Vicki Lesley, Tenner Films, London, 2011

“I first visited the DOK Leipzig co-production meeting three years ago (…) The people I have met in 2008, commissioning editors, distributors, sales agents, co-producers etc, have since become my partners in several projects. I consider my participation in the event this year as a direct continuation of the wonderful experience of three years ago, and such event has already proved fruitful, allowing me to develop strong and meaningful working relations with several key-players in the documentary field.”
Barak Heymann, Heymann Brothers Films, Israel, 2011
