Darya Bassel

Darya Bassel

Born in Ukraine in 1985. Studied German language and literature in Odessa, after graduating moved to Kyiv and worked in TV and commercial production as a producer. In 2011 joined the team of Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (Kyiv) where she works to this day as a programmer and head of industry. Recently started to produce films as an independent producer. The first project is My father is my mother’s brother directed by Vadym Ilkov (The most innovative film in the full length competition at Visions du Reel 2018).

Line producer at UGLY (feature film, premiered in Rotterdam in 2017), dir. Juri Rechinsky, Austria/Ukraine.


Line producer at VOLCANO, dir. Roman Bondarchuk, Ukraine/Germany, 2018 (premiered at Karlovy Vary, more than 7 awards).

Jamila Wenske

Jamila Wenske grew up in Berlin, studied at the filmuniversity Konrad Wolf in Babelsberg and completed her post-graduate studies at the German-French Masterclass in Paris and Ludwigsburg – L Atelier.


She runs the Berlin based production company ACHTUNG PANDA! with producer Melanie Blocksdorf and project manager Carli Hameder.


Jamila Wenske is currently Head of Production Studies at the DFFB and was previously Managing Partner and Producer of One Two Films GmbH.


Her successes as an international co-producer include feature films such as Juho Kuosmanens THE HAPPIEST DAY IN THE LIFE OF OLLI MÄKI, Isabel Coixet's THE BOOKSHOP with Bill Nighy and Emily Mortimer, THE COUNTY by Icelandic director Grimur Hakonarson, and Vadim Perelman's PERSIAN LESSONS with Lars Eidinger and Nahuel Biscayart in the leading roles, based on the motifs of the novel INVENTION OF A LANGUAGE by Wolfgang Kohlhaase.


In 2018, she was named one of the 10 PRODUCERS TO WATCH by Variety.

Jamila is a member of ACE, EAVE and the European and German Film Academy.
