DOK Preview

DOK Preview highlights outstanding works-in-progress, offering a small glimpse of excellent new creative documentaries looking for festival premieres, gap financing and distribution partners.

Two exclusive showcase presentations, DOK Preview Training and DOK Preview Germany, each open the stage for carefully curated projects with international distribution in mind, helmed by self-confident new talent and exceptional cinematic handwriting. We are excited to share them with you, and give a final push for their successful global circulation.

DOK Preview Germany

In cooperation with German Films, DOK Leipzig is happy to again present seven new and unusual German creative documentaries ready for international circulation. Each film has a unique and ambitious style and our charming moderators Simone Baumann and Tanja Georgieva, together with the film teams, will give you a sneak peek into new titles ready for your slots, slates and festivals. Stay for a drink and a snack at the end of the presentation, as the unofficial kickoff for the 62nd edition of DOK Leipzig.

In 2019 we welcome our new partner D-Facto Motion who will award one German documentary project the “DFM Work-in-Progress Prize” valued at 10,000€.

DOK Preview Training

DOK Preview Training

At the second works-in-progress presentations as part of the DOK Industry Programme, we are happy to present another seven new documentary projects from European training initiatives, including two wildcard projects selected from Co-Pro Israel and the CNEX Pitch in Taiwan. Recognising the catalysing results of participating in these training events and industry events for projects, this showcase of new documentary talents and their films will inspire you to select their films for your festivals and slots.

Each team has been trained by mentor and moderator Stefano Tealdi in the days proceeding, providing new networking opportunities for the graduates of these initiatives to create new close working ties.
