When and where does the event take place?
DOK Short’n’Sweet takes place on Wednesday, 1 November 10:30h to 12:30h in our DOK Industry venue Zeitgeschichtliches Forum.
What does the event look like?
The event combines a panel about the financing and distribution of short documentary films and the pitch of the short film ideas.
Who are the panelists/the jury?
Here you can find the list of the panelists
How much time do i have to pitch?
Each presentation consists of 3 minutes pitch and 4 minutes are reserved for questions from the panelists.
How should i prepare my pitch?
The pitch is performed orally, so you do not have to prepare visual material. Make it short and sweet and be ready to pitch when your name is drawn from the registrations.
We don’t offer pitch training in advance of the event. So come prepared. You might even want to bring one pagers with links to previous works or teasers with you. It’s up to you, how you prepare for the session, but we ask you to take it seriously, as there is a big potential to find partners and financiers. And also, don’t take the opportunity away from a serious candidate if you are not prepared.
Is there a prize awarded for the best pitch or project?
This year’s event is a pilot where we cannot promise a prize for any of the pitched film ideas. But it is possible that you draw interest of the panelists or observing film professionals.
do I receive travel or accomodation support when i pitch my idea?
No, DOK Leipzig does not cover your travel or accommodation costs for your participation in DOK Short’n’Sweet.
Can i come as an observer and listen?
Yes, please do. DOK Short’n’Sweet is open to all holders of a festival accreditation.
Is there a fee for participation?
Participation is free but open only to accredited festival guests. So regardless of whether you would like to observe or pitch, please make sure you have a festival accreditation (either purchased or by invitation).
