DOK Co-Pro Prizes 2019
DOK Industry Programme is very happy to announce that projects selected for the 15th edition of the DOK Co-Pro Market are eligible for the following prizes.
New in 2019 is the Development Prize for the Best Female Director of the Saxon State Minister for the Arts. A 5,000 € development grant will be awarded to an outstanding project from a female director, further showing the festival’s commitment to closing the gender gap as well as a new collaboration between the festival and Saxon State Ministry for Higher Education, Research and the Arts.
We will also continue to award one project from East and Central Europe with a US$ 2000 development grant, offered by our partners at Current Time TV. “Current Time’s Development Award recognizes and supports new talent and original stories, and drives our mission of not only being a platform for new voices, but a catalyst” says the channel’s Executive Editor Kenan Aliyev.
The festival's partnership with EWA - European Women's Audiovisual Network will also continue with a new prize to be awarded at the training programme Circle: Women's Doc Accelorator. The cash prize also includes mentoring from DOK Leipzig and EWA members.
And finally, our collaboration with local organisation Zonta Club Leipzig-Elster will provide a talent development travel bursary for one female filmmaker, allowing her to attend DOK Co-Pro Market and expand her network and professional expertise over two days in Leipzig.
The DOK Co-Pro Market will select 35 projects in total to attend the programme who will participate in more than 850 curated meetings. 5 of these projects are selected from our partner festivals and markets: Balkan Discoveries in Prizren, Docs to Go! In Krakow, Ex Oriente in Prague, Pitching Montevideo in Motevideo and the Filmmart in Durban.
