Female filmmakers receive prizes at the Co-Pro Market
Two female filmmakers have received prizes at the 13th DOK Co-Pro Market.
DOK Leipzig and the European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA) have awarded the EWA Development Prize for the best female-driven documentary in the DOK Co-Pro Market. This year’s winner is Waterproof by Daniela König, produced by Michaela Pnacekova (Kloos & Co. OST UG). The project is about four female plumbers in Jordan. The prize comprises some financial support as well as assistance to further develop the project for one year. Once again, Saxon State Minister for Science and the Arts Dr. Eva-Maria Stange took over the patronage of the prize.
In addition, the Zonta Club Leipzig Elster has decided to cover the travel costs of one participating female director. This year’s grant went to the South Korean filmmaker Sinae Ha, who came to DOK Co-Pro Market with a project called The Primate Citizen.
