Simone Baumann
Managing Director German Films

Simone Baumann is working in the film production for more as 25 years and has produced many documentaries and feature films.  Till March 2019 she was the head of the documentary department of Saxonia Entertainment GmbH. From 1997-2010, she was managing director of the independent production company LE VISION. She is an experienced co-producer, and one of Europe's leading experts on Russia, the former Eastern bloc, and their audiovisual markets.

In April 2019 Simone Baumann was appointed as the Managing Director of German Films – the German film promotion. She has been working as the GERMAN FILMS Eastern Europe representative since 2005. She also supervised numerous feature film productions in the former Soviet Union as an executive producer and consultant.

Tanja Georgieva-Waldhauer has produced and co-produced several multi-awarded films over the last years. Her latest production, ANOTHER REALITY by Noel Dernesch and Olli Waldhauer won the Audience Award of DOKFest Munich 2019 and celebrated its International Premiere at La Semaine de la Critique of Locarno International Filmfestival. VOLCANO, the fiction debut by Roman Bodarchuk, premiered at Karlovy Vary International Filmfestival and Filmfest Munich 2018, has travelled to more than 45 International Filmfestivals and was awarded with 10 Awards up to now. Among others, in 2013 Tanja received the European Mediaprize CIVIS for THE GRAVEYARD OF THE ILLEGALS by Andreas Morell as Best European feature-length documentary.

Since January 2015, Tanja leads as Producer and CEO ELEMAG PICTURES. Tanja is an EAVE-Producers Workshop-alumna and a member of Documentary Association of Europe, AGDok, European Women`s Audiovisual Network, the European Filmacademy and has represented Germany as European Producer on the Move in 2020.

DOK Preview Training

Get a small taste of excellent new films looking for festival premieres, gap financing and distribution partners in collaboration with 8 different training initiatives from across Europe. DOK Leipzig selects one outstanding project from each training initiative to participate in a presentation refresher workshop and networking events, culminating in a lively presentation. Each project, often helmed by self-confident new talents, shows exciting ambition and beautiful cinematic handwriting. We are very happy to share them with you, and give a final push for their successful global circulation.

Heidi Fleisher

Heidi Fleisher is an American producer and consultant based in Paris. She previously handled international acquisitions for France 2’s creative documentary strand 25 Shades of Docs, has worked as a Development Exec for LA-based Synthesis Films, and as Head of Sales & Acquisitions for ARTE Sales. Production credits include the feature documentaries WAKE UP ON MARS by Dea Gjinovci (Tribeca 2020), DON'T BREATHE by Nino Kirtadze (TIFF 2014), and the short doc collection currently in production ELEMENTAL: Atomic Tales and Periodic Fables. She is a Hot Docs Blue Ice mentor, a member of American Film Showcase and participates frequently in filmmaker labs and international training initiatives.

Pierre-Alexis Chevit

Pierre-Alexis Chevit runs Cannes Docs, the documentary-focused industry program at the Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes. Over the years he has also freelanced for a variety of festivals, markets and organizations, both on the coordinating and programming sides, including Cinéma du Réel, Fipadoc, Short Film Corner, Agence du Court Métrage, Cinéma du Québec à Paris, Festival Silhouette and others. He has also worked in the VOD/DVD field, dealing mainly with docs and short films. Pierre-Alexis regularly serves as jury and consultant / expert on various international documentary events.
