Interactive Documentary, Canada 2014
In 1966, Claude Jutra shot the first skateboard film in history, “The Devil’s Toy”, with a hand-held camera. A film that’s not only about the new sport but also about being young, the urge to rebel, and intolerance. What’s left fifty years later? In this interactive documentary that can be browsed by geography and theme, fourteen directors from eleven countries on four continents show us what the rolling wheels mean to them.
