Selection Committee 2017

For many weeks their office is a dark room with a big screen for viewing all the films that reached us – it's the working environment of the film experts that form DOK Leipzig's Selection Committee.


Film publicist and journalist

Ralph Eue (Head of Selection Committee)

was born in 1953. He studied German, Romance languages and architecture in Marburg, Paris and Frankfurt. Since 1980, he works as a Film publicist and translator, until 1984 he was an editor of the fabulous journal Filmkritik. 1990-95 he was the Press Officer of Tobis Filmkunst, since 1996 he works as a television journalist aswell. read more

André Eckardt

André Eckardt was born in Berlin in 1973. He studied English language and literature at the Technische Universität Dresden. From 2008 to 2015 he worked as managing director of the German Institute for Animated Film in Dresden. read more





Filmmaker and Media Educator

Leopold Grün

Leopold Grün was born in Dresden in 1968. He has been a freelance documentary filmmaker in Berlin for many years and is also involved in media education. Neue Visionen Filmverleih presented his documentary features “Der Rote Elvis” (“The Red Elvis”) (2007) and “Am Ende der Milchstraße” (“Far End of the Milky Way”). read more

Zaza Rusadze

Zaza Rusadze was born in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1977. He worked for Georgian TV for several years. In 1996 he moved to Germany and studied in directing class at Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf. During his study he has worked as News Cutter for German TV Channels and as a translator for the Film Festivals in Berlin, Leipzig and Cottbus. read more

Carolin Weidner

Carolin Weidner was born in Bad Saarow, not far from Berlin, in 1989. She studied film, journalism and communication at the Freie Universität Berlin from 2008 to 2014. She has been publishing texts about film and the cinema since 2010, mainly for die tageszeitung (taz) and Spiegel Online. read more

Luc-Carolin Ziemann

Born in 1976, Luc-Carolin Ziemann is a curator, author and film educator. She studied cultural studies, communication and politics in Hamburg and Leipzig. She has been with DOK Leipzig since 1997 as a curator and is also the head of the DOK Education programme. read more
