Richard Lutterbeck, born in Beckum/Westphalia in 1957, studied photographic and film design at the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences. He was a founding member of the Filmhaus Bielefeld and the local Arthouse cinema "Lichtwerk". In 1987 he founded "Trickstudio Lutterbeck" in Cologne, a limited company since 1998 which he is managing with Matthias Bruhn. In addition to running the studio he taught at various universities and institutes of further education. He has produced a variety of animation films, for example for "Mouse TV", "Die Sendung mit dem Elefanten", "Löwenzahn", and "Toggolino", often based on books by Jutta Bauer, Nicholas Allen or Wolf Erlbruch, which won multiple international awards.
