Kinos

Information about accessibility in our festival cinemas

Cinemas

Most of the festival venues have wheelchair access.

Cinemas that are fully accessible and have disabled bathrooms will be indicated with a Icon Wheelchair.

Cinemas that have this symbol  are wheelchair accessible. However, the bathroom is such that it can only be accessed with the help of another person.

Registered disabled people are eligible for discounts. Their companion persons are entitled to a free ticket.

CineStar

Getting there

The following stops and stations are accessible to people with disabilities:

 

  • Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz (S-Bahn (S1, S4, S5, S5X, S11) and tram (2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14), 300m from cinema. There is a system to guide visually-impaired people from this stop to the entrance of the Passage Petersbogen.
  • Markt (S-Bahn (S1, S4, S5, S5X, S11) and bus 89), 450m from cinema
  • Goerdeler Ring (Straßenbahn (1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, 15), 900m from cinema

 

Parking spaces for disabled people

There are three free parking spaces for the disabled in Burgstraße (50m from cinema) and two in the Peterskirchhof (100m from cinema).

There are also two in the Petersbogen parking lot (2 in level -2, 1 in level -3), which are not free. NB: A vehicle cannot be higher than two metres.

 

Access to the Cinestar cinema in the Passage Petersbogen

There are two lifts which enable access to the cinema.

Guide dogs are allowed.

Please contact the Infoteam in the cinema foyer for further information about accessibility.

 

Disabled toilets

There is one disabled toilet at level 2 and one at level 4, which are both accessible via the lift. Please ask staff for the key.

  • Wheelchair access at level 3
  • 2 wheelchair spots and seats for escorts
  • 6 more spots in the first row (accessed via level 3) - please ask staff in advance for help
  • Row B is recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are few steps

 

Cinema 5

  • Wheelchair access at level 5
  • 1-2 wheelchair spots and seats for escorts
  • Row C is recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are no steps

 

Cinema 6

  • Wheelchair access at level 5
  • 1-2 wheelchair spots and seats for escorts
  • Row C is recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are no steps

  • Wheelchair access at level 5
  • 1 wheelchair spot and seat for escorts
  • 6 more spots in the first row (accessed via level 4) - please ask staff in advance for help
  • Row K is recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are no steps

Getting there

  • Goerdeler Ring (Straßenbahn (1, 3, 4, 7, 9, 12, 14, 15), 350m from cinema
  • Markt (S-Bahn (S1, S4, S5, S5X, S11) and 89 bus), 160m from cinema
  • Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz (S-Bahn (S1, S4, S5, S5X, S11) and tram (2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14), ca. 800m from cinema

There are public parking spaces in Große Fleischergasse (3 x, 30m away from the cinema)

 

Accessing the Passage Kinos

The cinemas can be accessed from the interior courtyard.

The tills and cafe are accessible to disabled peoples.

Guide dogs are allowed.

NB: When it is wet, the interior courtyard can get slippery.

 

Disabled toilets

There is one disabled toilet in the interior courtyard.

Please ask staff for the key and for guidance.

Other toilets are accessible via a staircase.

  • 1 wheelchair spot and seats for escorts in the first row (NB: close to the screen)
  • Rows 1, 2 & 3 are recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are no or fewer steps

  • 1 spot for wheelchairs that are not so big and seats for escorts
  • Row 7 is recommended to people with walking difficulties since there are no steps
