Two films presented at DOK Leipzig 2018 received the Swiss Film Award: Anja Kofmel’s documentary-animation hybrid Chris the Swiss and Corina Schwingruber Ilić‘s All Inclusive.

Last Friday, 22 March, the winners of the Swiss Film Award have been honoured in Genf, among them the outstanding succesfull animated documentary Chris the Swiss. The film by Anja Kofmel won all 3 Categories in which it was nominated: Best Documentary (Anja Kofmel, Samir and Sereina Gabathuler), Best Score (Marcel Vaid) and Best Editing (Stefan Kälin). Diving deeply into the political turmoil of the Civil War in Croatia, Chris the Swiss tells the story of the director’s cousin who came as a journalist and later joined a group of nationalist mercenaries. He died in 1992. The film was shown in the International Programme and had its German Premiere at the last Festival Edition of DOK Leipzig.

Also nominated for these categories was #Female Pleasure by Barbara Miller who already received the Special Prize of the Interreligious Jury at DOK Leipzig 2018.

After being awarded with a Golden Dove in Leipzig last year, Corina Schwingruber Ilić luckily received another Award in the category Best Short Film for All inclusive – a look over the railings of the all-inclusive cruise industry – this time in Geneva.
