European Film Awards 2017

European Film Awards 2017 Two films that were part of DOK Leipzig 2016 and 2017 have been awarded at the European Film Awards 2017: "Communion" in the category European Documentary and "Loving Vincent" as European Animated Feature Film. The prestigious European Film Awards have been presented in Berlin on 9 December 2017.


We congratulate the Polish director Anna Zamecka who won the award in the category European Documentary for her film Communion, which has been part of the International Competition at DOK Leipzig 2016 and received the Young Eyes Film Award by our Youth Jury.


Our congratulations also go to Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman who have been awarded in the category European Animated Feature Film for Loving Vincent, which had been presented at this year's DOK Leipzig Animation Night. Loving Vincent will be released in German cinemas from 28 December 2017.
