DOK Industry Programme 2018
It’s all about connectivity at DOK Industry this year. In the scope of a programme featuring roughly 70 individual events during the festival week from 29 October to 4 November, accredited film professionals can develop and discuss their film projects and forge creative connections with like-minded partners from the worlds of film financing and distribution.
"DOK Industry Programme, in its 14th iteration has shifted the formats we offer our accredited professional festival visitors. We want to offer more opportunities for connectivity, placing a greater importance on events such as Meet the Experts and Face to Face“, says Brigid O’Shea, head of DOK Industry. "It was very exciting to receive such a positive response to the new pitching format DOK Short’n' Sweet. We really want to offer festival guests as many chances to present their slates and upcoming projects the high-quality decision makers in attendance.“
Besides the DOK Co-Pro Market, DOK Industry offers networking opportunities such as the transmedia conference DOK Exchange focusing on VR this year, the one-on-one meetings of Face to Face as well as the rough-cut screenings at DOK Previews or the 2nd edition of the short film pitching format DOK Short’n’Sweet, which received more than 70 submissions this year.
The talk series Meet the Experts and Meet the Filmmakers have also been morphed into interactive formats intended to serve as discussion platforms, thus strengthening the connection between DOK Industry and DOK Leipzig. While festival programmers, VR experts and sales agents can share their experiences in the scope of this year’s Meet the Experts industry talks, Meet the Filmmakers is slated to host in-depth conversations with respected international directors like Adina Pintilie, Vitaly Mansky and Victor Kossakowsky.
