Call for Entries 2018
From now on artistic documentaries, animated films and animated documentaries of all lengths as well as interactive works can be submitted to the 61st festival edition of DOK Leipzig.
Along with our Selection Committee, which this year consists of seven members, we are looking forward to receiving varied submissions: “We are looking forward to seeing films that do things differently, that show an awareness that there are more things between heaven and earth than one can possibly imagine – whether in an animated film, a documentary or a fruitful combination of both. Films revealing how documentary and animated film absorbs and expresses the present”, says Ralph Eue, Head of our Selection Committee.
Submitted films could be nominated for one of our six prestigious competitions and several special awards with a total prize money of up to 75,000 Euro. Additionally, DOK Leipzig is a qualifying festival for the ACADEMY AWARDS© und the European Film Awards.
Apart from films, you can also submit interactive works for the DOK Neuland exhibition or other interactive programmes in the festival. We welcome all forms of innovative new media works, such as 360° films, virtual reality projects (films, installations, plays), works of augmented reality or mixed reality, participatory films, web documentaries and apps – and many more that we may not even be aware of.
The first entry deadline for films is Saturday, 5 May, and the final entry deadline for films and interactive works is on Saturday, 7 July 2018. DOK Leipzig 2018 will take place from 29 October to 4 November.
