In this poignant investigative documentary we follow personal stories of people who lost their legal identity under a system in transition, struggling for something which ought to be obvious and normal. How can thousands of people in a newly formed state be administratively erased almost overnight? The Slovenian filmmaker Damjan Kozole, who directs both fiction and documentaries and became known particularly for his subtle contemporary story “Slovenian Girl”, manages with very simple cinematic means to keep the inner suspense in spite of his talking heads approach.
