After its world premiere at DOK Leipzig 2024, the documentary “The Family Approach” celebrated a successful German cinema release in June 2025, supported by a wide-reaching impact campaign.
Director Daniel Abma, producer Britta Strampe and impact producer Lisa Nawrocki, both from Bandenfilm, share how they positioned the film – from building early strategic partnerships and the use of distribution funding to social media storytelling and targeted outreach. They reflect on key lessons, challenges faced, essential partners, and practical insights for planning and executing future documentary distribution projects.
