Plan a Visit
How do I get to DOK Leipzig?
Whether you come by plane, train or automobile, we’ve mapped out the shortest routes for you. This way to travel planning.
Where do I stay?
Use one of our exclusive contingents to book a hotel room in the city centre or get acquainted with a charming corner of greater Leipzig with a local host through our initiative “Zimmer frei”, which translates to “room free”.
When can I buy tickets?
Film tickets are available online starting 10/10/2020. Accreditation for industry guests and journalists begins in the summer.
Where are the venues?
Many of Leipzig’s venues transform into DOK cinemas during the festival week. As a result, we are still able to roll analogue films directly off the spool in every festival edition.
The CineStar Leipzig and the Passage Kinos show films in the city centre, while the Schaubühne Lindenfels and the Schauburg attract visitors to the west. Very special cinema atmospheres can be found in the GRASSI Museum and in the east hall of the PROMENADEN at the city’s main station. We have also selected the most beautiful spaces in Leipzig for our parties and panel discussions.
When do the films screen?
On Monday evening the festival programme begins with the opening film. From Tuesday until Saturday the rest of the programme runs from 10 am to 10 pm.
With breaks, up to five screenings per day can be shown on one screen! But for those who don't have time for a marathon, all festival films run several times during the week at very different times. You can put together your own individual programme online or with the festival booklet.
Does the festival offer barrier-free access?
We are committed to making DOK Leipzig as barrier-free as possible. The festival depends on the infrastructure of the respective venues but works to remove barriers when feasible. Find out more about our barrier-free offers here.
