Agnès Varda retrospective
DAFilms.de has introduced a new project entitled The Greats of World Documentary Film that has been launched with a unique retrospective of 17 documentary films including the successful documentaries "The Beaches of Agnès" and "The Gleaners and I" by the French director Agnès Varda. The retrospective will be available online for free from 4 to 17 February.
Agnès Varda created a stir by participating in the creation of the script for the erotic film "Last Tango in Paris". Her creative film "Cléo from 5 to 7" is considered one of the gems of the French New Wave. Documentaries play an important role in her work, although they are rather unknown by a broader audience. Varda has not joined any group or movement. The authors of the French New Wave viewed Varda primarily as a friend and collaborator of Jean-Luc Godard, Alain Resnais, Chris Marker, Jacque Demy and many others. Her approach to film production was an inspiration to a number of these artists.
17 documentaries online for free
The Agnès Varda retrospective will be available online worldwide for free from 4 to 17 February and for small fees after this date on DAFilms.de. The films will be presented in their original version with English subtitles.
