Roundtable: Adult Animation in Europe

small

Adult animation is a growing topic across the industry, but how do we turn conversation into action? This roundtable is the second installment of a new and ongoing joint initiative between DOK Industry and Animation Production Days (APD), alternating sessions to exchange experience and ideas.

A survey ahead of the inaugural APD session revealed key pressure points: 36% called the sector “growing but fragmented,” 32% “underdeveloped,” and 57% named broadcaster/streamer risk aversion as the biggest barrier to growth.

This follow-up brings together creators, producers, and experts for a candid look at where European adult animation stands and what needs to happen next: explore structural gaps, share experiences from across the sector, and identify practical paths to collaboration, investment and scale.
