New Location for DOK Neuland
In its third year DOK Neuland is moving to a new location: a former retail space at Messehof in Leipzig’s city centre will be the home for our interactive exhibition during the festival week. DOK Neuland visitors can discover a selection of ten interactive works, among them 360° films, virtual reality projects and webdocumentaries. The exhibition opens its doors from 31 October to 4 November daily from 12 pm to 8 pm with daily tours at 3 pm. Entrance free!
The interactive works invite the visitors to empathise with places and stories. We will meet people who fight against oppression, try to transform adverse into acceptable conditions – and sometimes fail. We encounter others who are not able to even try.
DOK Neuland is part of our Official Selection and is supported by ARTE. The Leipzig artist Paula Gehrmann has created the exhibition design. All visitors have the possibility to vote via TomVote for their favourite work to win the audience award.
One of the selected works is presented in two different versions: The participatory film The Maribor Uprising can be experienced individually in the exhibition, but will also be shown in an interactive cinema screening with collective voting on 2 November at 9:30 pm at Passage Kinos Universum.
