Jay Rosenblatt has been working as an independent filmmaker since 1980 and has completed more than 30 films so far, including some which premiered at the New York Film Forum. In October 2010, the New York Museum of Modern Art screened his current works for a week. Eight of his productions were invited by the Sundance Film Festival. Jay Rosenblatt was a recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, United States Artists and Rockefeller Foundation fellowship. From 1989 to 2010 he taught film and video production at several film schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. He became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2002 and is currently programme director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival.
