Doc Together: Documentary as Resistance

DOK Industry Talk 2025

Doc Together: Documentary as Resistance

small

How can filmmaking become an act of solidarity under challenging political conditions? As part of Doc Together, this panel features two case studies: the creation of the Palestine Film Institute and the making of the anonymous, award-winning film “Myanmar Diaries” by the Myanmar Film Collective. A panel discussion will follow with filmmakers and producers from Georgia, Hungary, and India, who will share insights into the challenges they face, the risks for artists in their countries, and the collective strategies they are building to resist censorship, protect freedom of expression, and build collective strategies of support.
