Meet Bertha, a 13-year-old Belgian girl fighting every day against her ultimate enemy: Wolfram. Wolfram is a rare disease that affects her nervous system with major consequences on her eyesight. To fight Wolfram, Bertha has her own secret weapon: creativity. When she paints, it’s as if her brush becomes a sword that she carefully uses to create extraordinary paintings – and control Wolfram. Together with a renowned Belgian painter, they create inspiring paintings that they sell at the Eye Opener, a yearly fundraising art exhibition.

12-year-old Kwinten loves to play outside. Since his best friend Obi moved to another city, he is often alone. Kwinten now finds comfort with his dog Jagmur, donkey Carmen, and the neighbour’s pig Knorre.
Kwinten’s big hero is his dad. He is the commander of the F931 Louise-Marie, a navy ship of the Belgian Ministry of Defense. His job requires him to be regularly at sea for long periods of time. Kwinten is used to missing his father, but every time he is away on a mission, Kwinten needs to see how to fill the days and cope with “missing”.

Jip and Fien are set out to discover the new dynamics of their relationship during their annual summer camping trip. Jip seems different. A little distant perhaps. He spends more time alone and is always on his phone, texting Fien, his girlfriend. Fien, his little sister, tries to win her brother back and wants to understand what is going on in his head.
Throughout the film, they look for the meaning of love while discovering the boundaries of their own relationship. The film zooms in on their questions: What is love and what does it mean to be in love? What’s the difference between the love for a boyfriend/girlfriend and the love for a sibling? While Fien, the girlfriend, is always present on the phone or in their thoughts, brother and sister reconnect over the summer holiday.

In a letter to her classmates, Romy talks about the ups and downs of her life as a circus artist and about her big dreams.
