The age of digital media has fundamentally altered the global use of media and information pathways − we communicate, produce and consume in multi media systems. In the field of documentary film, there is an increasing number of interactive productions and new formats that can be played back on different media platforms. Whether it's mobile docs on a phone, digital doc series online or an Internet game on documentary film, cross media is the latest media market catchword and this development is both an opportunity and a challenge for media producers.
How can cross media content be created and what effect does it have on the narrative structures of documentary material? How can film makers and producers adapt to the production of 360° formats and what must they know about the structure and conception of these kinds of projects? How can funding be found and which partners and networks are best suited for transmedia projects?
We have invited international transmedia experts to talk about the latest developments, current 360° projects, opportunities and their personal visions and experiences with cross media.
