Jury German Competition Documentary Film Jörg Adolph

Jörg Adolph was born in Herford in 1967. After graduating in New German Literature, Media Studies and Art History from the University of Marburg, he studied Documentary Filmmaking at the Munich University of Film and Television. From 1996 to 2005 he worked as a trailer editor for Taurus Film. He received the German Television Award both for his graduation film “Klein, schnell und außer Kontrolle” (Small, Fast and out of Control) and for “Kanalschwimmer” (Channel Swimmers) in 2001 resp. 2005. In 2002 he documented the Band The Notwist’s intense work on their album Neon Golden in “On/Off the Record”. “How to Make a Book with Steidl” (with Gereon Wetzel) was awarded the Golden Dove at DOK Leipzig in 2010. Today Jörg Adolph lives in Ebenhausen near Munich as a freelance documentary filmmaker, editor, writer and teacher.
