Andrea Martignoni, born in Bologna in 1961, studied Geography at the University of Bologna until 1994. In 2005 received an additional diploma in music after a stay the Cinémathèque québécoise in Montréal. Based on his extensive knowledge of the history of animated film he created numerous sound designs for the genre, including for "Fino" (2006), "Muto" (2008) and "Big Bang Big Boom" (Leipzig opening film, 2010) by Blu. He also collaborated with animation filmmakers Saul Saguatti and Pierre Hébert and has organised frequent audiovisual performances with artists like Basmati and the Compagnia d'Arte Drummatica. He regularly conducts workshops in co-operation with cultural centres and international film festivals.
