Our Selection Committee is ready to start! Seven film experts will come together for many weeks in spring and summer for viewing all the films that reach us. Besides our Head of Selection Committee Ralph Eue (journalist, lecturer and curator), André Eckardt (curator, publicist), Carolin Weidner (film journalist) and Luc-Carolin Ziemann (curator, film educator), we welcome three new members this year:

Filmmaker Daniel Abma is one of them. His film Beyond Wriezen premiered at DOK Leipzig in 2012. He is teaching at Konrad Wolf Film University and tutors pitching workshops around Europe. Filmmaker, curator and translator Saskia Walker will also be joining DOK Leipzig’s Selection Committee for the first time. She has been co-editor of Revolver film magazine and has been on the selection committee for Berlinale Shorts. A first-time member as well is Annina Wettstein, curator and film educator, who was a member of the selection committee for Solothurn Film Festival and Attaché de Programme. She was also in charge of the “Panorama Suisse” programme of the Locarno Festival. A warm welcome to Annina, Daniel and Saskia!

Former member Leopold Grün is busy working as managing director of AG Verleih and is still making his own films, but from now on he will share his passion for films as our advisor. Filmmaker and producer Zaza Rusadze is currently completing his first novel - we're really excited about that!

DOK Leipzig’s call for entries is open since 3 March 2018. Those films which make it into this year’s Official Selection will have a chance of being nominated for one of the festival's six competitions and numerous other prizes.
