For Christiane Mückenberger, the Undaunted One
Christiane Mückenberger (1928–2025) fearlessly voiced her opinions in the GDR and was banned from her profession for ten years as a result. Her knowledge of Eastern European cinema was boundless. In a time of uncertainty, she took over responsibility in 1990 and headed the DOK festival for three years. Her commitment helped ensure that the festival still exists today.
