A woman alone at home at night. Something startles her. Disappointed hope. The montage of similar shots from classic Hollywood melodramas dissects cinema down to its symbolic core. At the same time it intensifies the nightmarish situation of the different female protagonists by isolation created in the editing and by obsessive repetition. Lights on, door open – darkness.
