This omnibus film on the current state of affairs in the “land of the free” was launched upon the initiative of Jay Rosenblatt, the guest of the DOK Leipzig 2017 Homage, and the documentarian Ellen Bruno. Following their call, more than fifty documentary, fictional and experimental contributions were submitted by US independent filmmakers: subjective answers to new or changed issues of race, class, faith and gender. The selection is many-voiced, but strong – and provoking – together.
