A young man deliberately chooses to live on the streets. After Kei tried and dropped out of university and military service he finds his happiness in turning his back on his performance-oriented society. He sleeps under bridges, meets new people in the streets and devotes all his time to his passions – classical music and military games. It’s doubtful whether he can keep up this lifestyle, because reality always catches up with him. The film follows this freedom-loving dreamer who is completely carried away by his outsider’s role with an almost meditative calm and breathtaking music.

Aisku also works as a coach. One of her charges, Elsa, reveals quite openly how this unusual hobby helps her cope with difficult times. Many other young women and girls like her demonstrate in this film that hobbyhorsing is not a children’s game but a means to recharge one’s batteries, gain recognition and experience the feeling of belonging. “Respect to the hobbyhorses!”

An armed warrior is running through a lonely forest. There used to be more of his kind here – more adventurers, more gamers. He and other players in an online role-playing game reflect on the times when it was more important to them than anything else. The outside world couldn’t reach them – relationships and families happened in the game, if at all. The protagonists, represented by their former avatars here, had to learn the painful way that fun had turned into a burden and then into addiction. In his animadoc film the director shows how hard it can be to log out of a virtual reality and return to the real world.

All of this happens in the world of “Grand Theft Auto V”, an open world game whose strong graphics and endless possibilities provide powerful visualisations of this explosive emotional chaos.

An unimposing office clerk is looking for a new reality in the cowboy life – a sheriff’s star instead of a tie, a horse instead of a crowded public service bus, a wooden cabin in the prairie instead of endless skyscraper canyons. After some initial difficulties it becomes clear that this is the only life for him. Childhood dreams come true in the light, dreamy pencil sketches of this animation. A final farewell to the daily grind: Yee-haw!
